How does decanting wine work?
Decanting is a method in which you can get more aromas and flavours from your bottled wine, through a process called aeration.
Particularly used for younger wines, decanting increases aroma and flavour in comparison to serving wine directly from the bottle. Decanting can also be used for older wines, to separate the sediment that can build up over time.
How long do I need to leave my wine in a decanter?
A simple rule is that the younger the wine, the longer you leave to decant, as they will need more time to breathe. We recommend to let young wines sit for 1-3 hours (depending on how patient you are) and older wines (10 years and up) to only sit for 30 minutes.
Is a decanter just for red wine?
No, although commonly used for red wines, a decanter can be used for all types of wine. White wines can be just as aromatic and complex as red wines, so give them a chance to breathe too!

For smaller and light items we send via Royal Mail 24 or 48 Tracked. Cost from £3.69
For cards and other thin items we send Royal Mail Large Letter (1st or 2nd class). Cost from £1.65. We can also send tracked - select at checkout
For larger or multiple items such as 750ml or 2.5L Frenchic Paint we use DPD Next Day service. This is a flat fee of £5.35 up to 20kg weight. (Royal Mail will not carry tins larger than 500ml)
